Captured Mosins at Fushun, China after the Russo-Japanese War

I just got this and have not totally researched all the history or markings. My understanding is that there was only about 3,000 of these built. Bolt and barrel match, and other numbers have been scrubbed as the Finns did not use them.

• Bolt mismatch, but otherwise matching/all Izhevsk parts and stock.
• No import marks.
• Two "D" marks on either side of the Izhevsk triangle.

M24 rifles are Russian M91s that have been re-barrled by the Finnish Civil Guard. Many M24s eventually became Finnish military property. This rifle does not have the SA mark, suggesting it never became a military rifle. Because of this it has a great bore. The numbers on the side of the barrel shank indicate the Civil guard District this rifle was used in. The stock is in extremely rough shape, but I like it.
I am VERY curious if anyone knows what the letters on the tang mean. It should be the date of manufacturing, but this one looks to only have the Tula hammer and the letters BN. The lower section of the tang has an SH. I can not find any info on this. It does not have a grease hole.

This rifle was bought by me nearly two years ago. But it was hard to call it “rifle”; it was just rusty barrel and receiver! At the start of the restoration process I was trying to find some markings that can maybe still alive, but none of them survived. And I decided, if there are no makings, by which I can identify the manufacturer and date, I can choose the manufacturer myself! I decided that this rifle would be Remington produced rifle! For less than two years I have been finding Remington marked rifle parts all over Russia, and, what’s interesting, it was sometimes easier to find them than some Russian produced rifle parts! And now you can see the result! Yes, it still has some not Remington parts, or just unmarked, such as Finnish buttplate, some unknown rear sight base, or Izhevsk dragoon rear sight leaf and Westinghouse bayonet! It also has new made walnut stock, which is authentic for American made mosins! All metal parts; buttplate, sling escutcheons and nose cap were fixed to the stock by myself! Also, to find an original infantry cleaning rod is like to find a unicorn, so my cleaning rod was made by welding two cut pieces of dragoon cleaning rod!
It may look ugly, but the work is still in progress, and I will do all I can to make a full set Remington infantry mosin! And of course, it will never fire, only blank shooting, because of the barrel corrosion, and Russian gun law!

Obviously this is an M91, 1904 Tula. On the left side of the stock is a German "Deutsches Reich" property mark. I do not know what the numbers on that side of the stock are. On the reciever is stamped AZF representing the Austro /Hungarian Arsenal in Vienna. I assume this piece of history found it's final home in Finland after it may have been paid as reparations at the end of WW1. Of course the SA, sling loops and sights point to Finnish army. Russia- Germany- Austria- Finland- USA, Pennsylvania.

- Small Century barrel import marking.
- Finnish remarked rear sight and replaced front sight
- 1913 Izhevsk receiver counterstamped with Soviet crest
- Bolt appears to be original matching. Magazine floorplate and buttplate non-matching.
- One of six known Izhevsk produced 1919 M91s in the US/Canada. Tulas, while still extremely scarce (or even rare), and Dragoons from both arsenals, are recorded in the low hundreds.

Modern Accessories. All Non-Permanent and able to be reverted to All Original/All Matching Condition will little effort. Thats an original sling as well. Fires and cycles like butter. I hope the visual brings you pleasure.

I just got this rifle and don’t know too much about it. Using the pictures in this website as reference I know it’s Finnish and that’s about it.

This is my favorite mosin so far in my collection. It seems to be all original. The bolt and stock seem to be original to the rifle. Bore is in excellent shape. There is some circular wooden plug in stock approximately on place where older mosins had metal finger rest. Which is weird on 1917 made rifle,also stock has different shape in that area than other mosins I own. I don't know how to explain that.

I would like to recomend a Hungarian 1956 revolution tag/button. Mine is not pretty but at the moment the only Mosin I own. God Bless.

Found at a Local Gun show. Almost all matching U.S. Property 1917 Remington. Only part that does not match is the Cocking knob but is still a Remington part. Likely was damaged in U.S. Hands and replaced with a left over part or a part from another rifle. Unsure of the exact story on this one other than that. Bore Is extremely clean so unsure if it was used for training. Cartouche on the stock is still nicely stamped and legible as well as the U.S. stamp still in nice condition. Overall a nice example of a U.S. Property M91.

I believe this guy to be a SCW rifle. It doesn't have the typical "made in USSR" import stamp on the reciever, in fact it doesn't have any import markings whatsoever. The reason I believe it to be a SCW rifle is mainly the year 1936, as well as being non refurbished.

Just a fantastic example of a battlefield pick up 91/30.

If anyone has another idea of the origin/story of this beauty, please do let me know!
