Tula

Finnish M91

February 25, 2023

I purchased this 1914 M91 recently at a local gun show. The seller had no clue what kind of rifle it was or any information on it but I knew it was Finnish and mostly numbers matching, best I could tell. Nice bore, some cracks in the wood as shown, and a nice Finnish SA stamp. That said, I am not sure what country of origin it is or much information on it in general. I noticed it is not a 2 piece stock like I’m more familiar with on Finnish captures. I have a 1926 Finnish M91 as well but was able to find more information on it per its markings. Searching for information on this particular rifle and, in addition, both barrel band bolts with nuts (one is stripped, the other snapped off). Looking forward to clean up, crac repair, and getting some range time with the young lady. I like to take all of my milsurps hunting here in North Carolina so I’ve also got that to look forward to!

Neat rifle! This is a 1914 Tula M91 rifle. The barrel markings read "Tula Emperor Peter the Great Weapons Factory". It also looks like the stock may have a WW1 German capture marking:
