Description
This is a well-known landmark along the Trans-Siberian Railway route, traditionally placed near the point where the railway crosses from European Russia into Asian Siberia. The exact traditional spot is often cited around Pervouralsk or the broader Ural boundary area (historically near the 60th meridian east)
"Na zdar!" was the signature greeting/motto of the Czechoslovak Legion (and the Sokol movement that influenced many legionnaires), roughly translating to "To success!", "Cheers!", or "Hail!"—equivalent to their informal unit nickname "Nazdarists" or "Nazdar Company" origins
