Austro-Hungarian Ersatz Mosin Bayonet

     This extremely rare bayonet was created from a single piece of steel. It would have been made by heating it up, and then wrapping it around a barrel before allowing it to cool. Given that this bayonet bears the name "Schmitd", it was likely created by a small subcontractor or blacksmith, perhaps in Vienna. The bayonet attaches to the muzzle by simply sliding it on, and then turning it around the front sight base
